Brad James owns James Custom Cycle Fabrications out of Wilkes-Barre PA. And he loves every single day of his job. But when it came time to build his own bike, he wanted it done his way. Brad says, "I build custom one-off custom motorcycles for a living. Sometimes when I build a bike for a customer, I have to bend for them, and do things I really don't want to do. Hence the name of this, bike, "My Way", no compromises. It is a no-bullshit kind of bike, no frills, get it done, screaming, lightweight, high-horsepower chopper. I really wanted to build my own bike my way. This bike is a blast to ride."
Knowing Brad's frame of mind when it came time for him to sink his soul into his ride makes it fun to take an inside look at it. He started with a 2005 Max Rigid frame, with a 40 degree rake, and added some guts to it through a JCC custom rebuilt engine.
Scott Franks applied flat tan and flat black epoxy to the frame, to tell the world that this bike was made to please only one man.
The wheels are 21-inch Black Bike's in the front, and 17-inch in the rear; Metzeler tires complete the package.
So, if you're looking for a builder that isn't afraid to tell you what the correct way to build a bike is, look no further than James Custom Cycle. They have some pretty strong feelings about what is being thrown around in the industry as "custom", but they've put in their time and built the bikes that show that they have the right to feel that way. Check out their website at www.jamescustomcycle.com and see what projects are being worked on these days, and you might get the itch to get your own JCC custom.
